How to reach us
By train
Munich's Hauptbahnhof (central station) is very well connected with Germany and Europe. From the station follow the S signs to the lower level and take a S-Bahn (suburban railway) train towards Marienplatz/Ostbahnhof. Get down at Marienplatz (only 2 stops) and take a U6 subway train to "Garching-Forschungszentrum". Once there follow the signs for the physics department
By plane
After arriving at Munich's Franz-Josef-Strauss airport either take a S8 train, get down at Ismaning and take the 230 bus to the stop "Garching Forschungszentrum" or take a S1 train, get down at Neufahrn and take a 690 bus to "Garching Forschungszentrum". James-Franck-Strasse is just around the corner.
By car
Leave the Highway A9 to/from Nürnberg at the exit "Garching Nord" and turn to your left at the crossing (B11 destination Freising). After ca. 650 m turn right in the Lichtenbergstr. At the end of Lichtenbergstr. turn left into the Boltzmann-Str. and immediately right into James-Franck-Str. On the left hand side you will find parking space, the main entrance of the Physics Department I is located at the end of the street.
